Blessed & Undressed

Good Tuesday all you Monday survivors!

Today's topic is the often facebooked line "I'm so blessed."  I think it is absolutely wonderful to feel blessed.  What I don't think is so wonderful is seeing your exposed breasts and cheeks.  Maybe I just don't understand because I'm not currently in a position to show off my goods, or maybe I feel blessed because I'm a homeowner, have the best boyfriend and a fabulous family?  Besides, not to be too critical but there's a reason your almost nude photo is on facebook and not in Victoria's Secret...Do not tear up, I'm sure lots of people are impressed with your image. In fact, I see lots of really creepy guys making inappropriate comments.  Bravo, you've received praise.

The ones that really stand out to me are those with children.  Holy Moly.  If  I saw my mom on facebook exposing herself like some of these pictures I would be mortified.  MORTIFIED PEOPLE.  I get that most girls have this dream to be a model--let's just be clear that modeling isn't having your picture taken "professionally" and uploaded to a social networking site, that's not considered published.  Once I see you in Vogue or another magazine I'll give credit where credit is due..until then I'll continue vomming in my mind.

This post basically just agrees with the hundreds of others that give people bad ratings on their facebook etiquette.

a wednesday morning.

It's 5 o'clock in the morning...sleep got boring...
Good Wednesday morning!  I decided it's okay to post a self portrait as long as it's me at the gym, sweating, with no make up.  I went around 5 this morning, same as yesterday and I really think morning work outs are the way to go.  But then again, I am that annoying morning person so to each their own.

A little tid bit of information for anyone on Weight Watchers: The Lo-Carb Monster Energy drinks are ZERO points.  Maybe this is a given, but I didn't know and I love them.  I'm not doing the Weight Watcher meetings; just using the online tools which are only $12.95 a month I believe.  You can track your weight, activity, food, etc.  and they have great recipes and all sorts of motivating information--highly recommended.  What isn't recommended is my dinner splurge from Taco Bell last night.  3 crunchy tacos & a supreme burrito = 23 points!  That's basically my entire day's worth of points at one meal.  My bad.  Thank God for activity and allowance points.

Okay, I'm done boring you.

G'day!

I never see what has been done; I only see what remains to be done. - Buddha

I ventured to the gym after work yesterday and was so relieved to find out I don't hate it as much as I thought.  In fact I went again this morning.  My 25th birthday is on the way, along with Summer so I'm using those as my motivation to kick it into gear.

I don't often indulge in reality TV shows, mainly the Kardashian's if anything, but I did watch the Bachelor last night.  I can't tell you why because it just irritates me watching the girls romp around claiming to be head over heels in love with this one man after a couple of weeks.  Apparently I'm just not in-the-know or maybe I appreciate monogamy.  I think that love is easy, don't laugh.  I think that the ultimate idea of love is simple.  These girls on this show are simply falling in love, that's what this show revolves around.  Aside from love there are intricate details that connect and stir up far more emotions than love, so to truly love someone I think you need to experience those.  Unfortunately I don't see a lot of arguments and disagreements between Ben (The Bachelor) and his flock of lovebirds.  Hello, it's a competition, every girl wants a rose just like every Olympian wants the gold.

Onto another love subject---Valentine's Day.  Listen, I know everyone says they hate it, it's so commercialized, yada yada.  What all you guys out there need to understand is that if you think you'll get away from this holiday without recognizing your girlfriend, you are terribly mistaken.  For your own safety, don't try it.  And don't fall for your girlfriend's lies about how she doesn't care about February 14th.  It's a test and I just gave you the answer.  I guess I should throw in that April Mass Photography is throwing a Valentine's Special (see the website for more details: www.aprilmass.zenfolio.com/pricing)

Thank you JoJo Franklin for the design!

Okay I've discussed self improvement, reality TV shows and love.  I think we're all set for a great Tuesday.

We've got a lot to learn, God knows we're worth it.

Surely you all have heard at least a tid bit of this song but if not, now you can...

I don't have much to bring to the table today, so enjoy the song and the rest of the week.

a taste of something new

If this post is all over the place as much as the ideas in my head then you're in for a treat.

I have been settling into my condo and have decided my next couple of projects.  The first can be done soon--revamping the guest bedroom.  Thinking of a vintage driftwood color for the wood floor, wall papering one wall, repainting the others, etc.  This is all pretty step by step so no big deal.  The next project is the one that is going to be wonderful when its complete, but will take lots of sweat---an outdoor fireplace and grill in one.  My patio feels so indoorsy to me so I figure I might as well roll with the punches and expand on that feeling.  You can actually purchase outdoor fireplace kits...who knew? Wish. Me. Luck.

I finally visited the Sunflower Market today and was impressed.  I copied my best friend Kat and purchased a case of Vita Coco--100% pure coconut water.  You guys, this stuff is no joke, so good.  I bought a case of 12 for $36 I believe.  Mind you, each individual container has 33.8 fl oz.  Not your typical bottle.  You also receive a case discount--good to know.  So quench your thirst in hipster style.  Also, not sure where the rest of you stand on the subject of salad dressing but I am always disappointed with store-bought dressing, until now.  I purchased a jar of Bob's Roquefort Salad Dressing and it changed my life.  Your mouth will thank you.  If you're baffled by which salad to go with this tasty dressing, choose Sweet Butter.

Okay, I won't force anymore Friday thoughts on you.  Enjoy the weekend and try new things.

Birthdays, Food & "I'm too busy"

Sometimes I wish I could elaborate on my workplace on my blog, but for fear of anything being discovered I'll resist.

With that being said, lets move onto brighter things in my life--

Jon celebrated his 32nd birthday over the weekend, little does he know birthday's are no longer a one day event.  The main event was attending Thunder vs. Knicks, which did anyone see that game?  AWESOME.  We met with Em and Nate beforehand to eat at Joey's Pizzeria downtown.  I recommend this place to all!  It was delicious and I want more.  We wound up at McNellie's afterwards and stayed out hours past our bedtime and I'd do it all over again!

The following day we went with my parents to "The Fair" in Edmond, a restaurant that serves fair food (go figure).  It was so good, so bad and so worth it.  I was disappointed to find out they won't have turkey legs until spring, but not disappointed enough to not order an Indian taco, fried pickles, funnel cake, corn dog, steak pita with fries & a lemonade...oops?  You can't open a restaurant like this and expect people to order lightly.  This place is also highly recommended, as of right now they only accept cash, so go prepared.

I would like to hear/read everyone's definition of "busy."  I'd share mine but I don't want it to influence your train of thought.  Just curious.  I often try to compare people's busyness and usually it doesn't match.  Someone clue me in.  I personally think my friends with children, a full time job and husbands are "busy" but not so much just those who work daily.
Well I'll let you ponder that while I get back to work.

solutions, surgeries & spray tans

Wednesday...almost to Friday but not quite.

WARNING:  Candy hearts are out.  Maybe this isn't a big deal to anyone else, but I have a magnetic force with them and can't stay away.  The sad thing is I only like the white ones, the rest aren't delicious but nonetheless I eat them.  I think I have a small solution for our obesity rates, instead of producing holiday treats months ahead of time why not just wait until the week or couple weeks before?  Sorry kiddos, you won't be able to get Halloween candy in August and Christmas goodies will have to wait until December.  I think I'm onto something.

My poor mom has torn her meniscus and will be having surgery on the 18th.  See where working out every day gets you?  Just kidding, I'm just trying to make myself feel better.  The surgery is really quick so I'm sure all will be fine.

I decided a couple months ago that I was done with tanning beds.  I got bit by the skincare bug and have chosen to stick with spray tans.  Speaking of, my very favorite tanning salon is The Riviera Tanning Spa and they actually have a 50% spray tan coupon online: http://www.rivieratan.com/specials.html
Their spray tans are about $26.00 so $13.00 with this coupon...not bad for not orange!

Happy day everyone!

DEALING with Monday.

Good Morning Monday readers!

This weekend consisted of another home project.  My dad and Jon installed my attic door in my garage, so I finally got to see what treasures were up there.  There wasn't anything and the space has actually never been used because it hasn't been decked yet.  This will change soon.  I was just glad to finally get my Christmas decorations up there and out of sight.  Speaking of, if you're needing storage containers for decorations or anything for that matter, Home Depot has spectacular deals--$5.88 for LARGE storage containers!  I was an avid card board box user who would tape and re-tape after each use, but these are much handier and convenient.  Although since I did away with card board boxes I am now in need of a tree bag or storage bin---Home Depot unfortunately was all out of tree storage.

Jon and I had a Day 'o Fun yesterday with bowling & Mama Rojas, I probably had more fun due to my victories.

Yesterday as the sun went down and Jon's time in OKC dwindled I proclaimed "I hate Sundays!"  Today I'm thinking I shouldn't have said that.  In the past when I've been so adamant about something I don't like I usually wind up with some unfortunate repercussion.  So with that being said, I don't in fact hate Sundays, I would just prefer they didn't mean that from Monday - Thursday Jon and I will be in separate cities.  Fair enough?

I hope everyone had a productive weekend, some deals I found out:

- Mondays & Tuesdays at Upper Crust offer $25 for one large pizza & one bottle of wine
- Tuesdays at Mama Roja's offer $2.00 Tacos & Tequila (something else too, but my memory gave out)
- Thursdays at Heritage Lanes are 25 cent bowling along with some other specials.

Happy Monday all!

a long short week

As nice as it is to have a 4 day work week, it never fails that it ends up feeling longer than a five day week.

Abster and I made our way to our Hams and Hiney spin class last night where I'm not even sure I broke a sweat because this class just isn't intense.  We filled out evaluations after class and although they were anonymous I still lied and said it was "Excellent".  Sure, the class didn't rock my world but I don't think its worth someone getting scolded, besides maybe it was intense for some people.

Today marks the first day I took advantage of my Home Owner's Association.  Some think my dues are pretty steep and maybe they are, but to not do lawn work, have security, maintain a pool, shovel snow off my driveway or have to take trash out makes me feel A-Okay about that monthly due.  The gate to my patio needs some new hardware and guess who has to get out there and do it?  Not this girl.  My parents even helped me transform my back patio garden to an April friendly area which means it's very low maintenance and nothing is depending on me for it's life.

Tonight I really am venturing into at least one of my attic spaces, I've said this before, but tonight is the real deal.  I have got to put my Christmas decorations up, up and away.  I am ready to put winter up, up and away too if it doesn't provide some snow pretty quick.  Doesn't winter know we rely on it for snow days and complete and utter boredom?  I don't want to waste a sick or vacation day when I can get it free, agreed?

Also on the agenda tonight (after dinner with one of my bff's, Megan) is some sort of at-home work out via Netflix.  My brother got me a fun yoga mat and I already stocked my Queue with work outs so I have no excuse to not give it a try.  My main reason for disliking at-home-work outs before was that working out on plush carpet just seemed blah.  With my whole place being tiled I literally have been released of all excuses.

How are all those New Year's Resolutions working out?  Not so well, huh?  I hate to say I told you so, but....

Happy Friday Eve

Two Thousand & Twelve

2012 in the house and what a happy one it is already!

I feel like this is the year to make great achievements, push the limit a little and perhaps face some challenges.  I won't go into detail yet with anything, but stay tuned because once I've made some progress I'll report back.  I'm just in this place where if I'm not careful I might get stuck so it's time to keep the ball rolling and get the most out of this life.

Not that this is a resolution by any means, but I did tell Jon that I want the next hotel we stay in to be by a beach.  Lately we've been staying at local hotels or places that are within driving distance.  Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the overnight stay, I just think its time for us to put aside some vacation money and go big or stay home.

How was everybody's New Year's Eve?  Ours was fun, although we did wind up at an overly hyped up event that cost too much for what it was.  New Year's Eve is tricky like that, but bravo to the venue's marketing team.  Jon was a wonderful date yet again and this year he didn't have to ask for a NYE kiss.

Alright, it's Tuesday and duty calls.  Happy New Year!
