Birds are chirping. Sun is shining. Pools are opening. And Okies are Thundering.
A little word to anti-Thunder fans, I'm going to love Thunder regardless of a win or loss so the competitive banter after your team wins is worthless. Besides, save it for the last game, not the first. Thunder. Up.
The past weekend was busy, fun & made me feel like I was back in college. Cook out, my first day in summer sun, casino, thundering & no to-do list. The cook out was great, Jon gets an A+ for his grill skills. My infused vodka fruit punch should have come with a disclaimer, but that's no fun.
Em & Jon both won some dinero at Riverwind. I still haven't found that happy spot in me where I enjoy the risk of losing money with nothing in return so I had a couple of beverages and put my cheerleading skills to use.
Just a tad bit of advice for parents taking children to a pool: PLAY WITH YOUR CHILD. I love kids, I do, but I don't really want to be guilted into making barbies swim because you're sweating off your hangover. Of course, I won't tell a child "No" who repetitively says "I have no one to play with" so I'm telling you.
I'm a little disappointed in myself. Those of you who have known me throughout college know that I generally take an overload of pictures at any and every event. I've been seriously lacking in 2012. Now that I've made my confession I will begin snapping at the next available opportunity.
Cheers to summertime!

Poor blog-a-la-mode getting neglected this month of May.
I have been fairly busy getting my patio put together and by "I", I mean my dad and I. Just a little FYI if you're interested in getting a quick muscle work out head over to the garden department at Lowe's and pick up around 25 large stepping stones a few times--these are no joke.
I'm hosting a little Summer Kick-Off Cook Out this weekend & my patio needed to get it together. Luckily with four hands instead of two we managed to get it looking pretty good.

Not many people saw the patio when I moved in. The previous owner had insane vines growing out of control all over the ground and fence...something you might see in a sci-fi horror flick; they obviously had to go. RIP vines. The garden area was replaced with a weed mad, red mulch, stepping stones & potted plants. If anyone else is lacking their green thumb like me, opt for pots. My dad put some kind of miracle grow in them and I swear the flowers are on cloud 9.
Enough about gardening. Onto more important things like this awesome, fun app my good friend JoJo and his friend Colbey created:
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/125-tuwaca/id522528884?ls=1&mt=8

Add, play, enjoy.
Another big thing happening right now...THUNDER. I really feel like I have a lot of emotion invested in our team. Love them.
As you can tell I've had good reason to let blog-a-la-mode have some alone time. Gardening, Apping, Thundering...

Scantily Clad Judgements.
"I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody." - Bill Cosby
With that lovely quote I think I'm on the right track to success...try to please everybody? What does that even mean?
I think we're living in the times where it's so easy to please everyone. Heck, a simple "like" of a status that you didn't thoroughly read on facebook tells someone you value their opinion. We also live in the times where judging someone else is what we're challenged to do daily. Constant updates are nothing more than someone requesting their own judgement.
Way back in the day before computers, we'd never know if women were dressed scantily clad unless we followed their lifestyle in person. Although I also think way back in the day, they would have been a tad humiliated to find out they were exposed, much less to expose themselves. Privacy is becoming obsolete and it really shouldn't.
There are so many "okays" in the world today that lines are nonexistent and intelligence..well that's right up there with lines. People don't know where they stand because someone can generally make their point manipulatively sound "okay". In reality we have shoddy, classless, unintelligent parodies of once was artistic, brilliant & entertaining.
On a much lighter note, the weekend was great, relaxing & full of delicious food, laughter, swimming, sunshine & movies. Americans sure know how to celebrate Cinco.
