Two hours until five. We can do this.
Most of my thoughts this week are going towards mine and Jon's upcoming New York trip next week. I don't often hear a lot of upbeat, positive things about the people of NY, but I can vouch for them when I say they have been super helpful. I've been to NY a few times before, each trip is to a different area so I never get to apply what I've learned. This trip we'll be staying in the city for a couple of days and then heading to The Hamptons for the 4th of July.
The challenging part of this trip has been coordinating transportation. Reserving the flight was a piece of cake. But as most know in NY you get into the confusion of trains, cabs, cars, drivers, subways, buses, ferries and last but not least...feet. I think we are finally settled as far as getting from point A to B goes. All the credit goes to the handful of New Yorkers on the other end of the phone correcting my reservations and giving helpful tips. I even appreciate some of their sassy remarks like, "Girl, if you're trying to get to LaGuardia why are you going to Manhattan?" I didn't even have to answer the question before she corrected my NY perplexity.
Mine and Jon's last trip, other than our former weekend visits between OKC & Tulsa was to Eureka Springs last July. We are definitely overdue for a little traveling.
Since I like to post about deals, I will share my most recent. I'm not one to get my nails done often, in fact it's safe to say that until recently I have gone years without stepping foot into a nail salon. However over the past couple of months I've gone in 3 times to 3 different locations. My all time favorite place so far has been Hawaii Spa and Nails off of May and NW 150th. I just got my hands done. Shellac & manicure for $30! This includes a brief massage and a paraffin wax treatment. They take reservations and are also open on Sundays, so if you're looking for a place to try give Hawaii Spa and Nails a whirl. Ask for Lee.
Happy last week of June!

What a weekend!
Saturdays are without a doubt one of my favorite days of the week. I'm such a morning person so a combination of Saturday + Morning = Happy April
I woke up and decided to make blueberry pancakes, this is rare for me, as is most cooking. They turned out great, got the kitchen cleaned and then heard an unexpected sound...water spraying under the kitchen sink. It wasn't long before my kitchen was an indoor swimming pool, mostly from the sink, but also a few tears contributed. What can I say? My first flood wasn't a happy experience. Don't ask Jon about the fiasco, I clearly was the only one emotional about it. Sue me.
After being reassured from my dad that nothing in there wasn't fixable, I collected myself and put my home warranty to good use. My $60 to the plumber includes labor & a new faucet. High five home warranty. I did learn that a faucet has a little more to it than hot and cold, for instance, pipes that burst are also included. Good to know.
Moving on to way more important things like Thunder being in the FINALS. If I didn't know any better I would have thought I was on the team last night because my heart was racing and I got really nervous for the game. Once I snapped out of it, I had a really good time, especially that part at the end where the Heat lost and put Lil Wayne's OKC complaint to shame.

We (about 10 of us) went to Whiskey Chicks downtown off of Reno (the former Rooster's). I had my doubts about this place, but I was proved so wrong. The pre-game band was incredible and our server was superwoman. Not to mention they threw out coozies, shirts, hats, etc. So far the only place I've gone to watch a game without top notch service was Fox and Hound, but Deep Deuce and Whiskey Chicks seem to know how to handle a large crowd.
I hope everyone is having a great week. Thunder Up.
