It's the most wonderful time of the year, or at least the tip of the iceberg.
As of Monday, September 24th I've started a new diet, The 17 Day Diet. I'm not one to hop on bandwagons when it comes to dieting, but I gave Weight Watchers another try and failed miserably. I just don't do well with the "You can eat anything you want!" diets. No, I can't. That's what got me in this predicament to begin with. The first couple of days of the 17 Day Diet were a little tough. Craved everything and was honestly just hungry. I'm into day 7, down 7 lbs and am adapting to lean proteins, low carb fruits, probiotics and veggies. After my 17 days I can start adding stuff back in, but I'm not sure that I want to; I'm kind of enjoying the challenge.
I really am not someone who does well on diets so if you're at all interested in trying something I would give this one a shot. I personally need something with strict guidelines, I know myself well enough to know that I take advantage of any wiggle room so I can't have any.
Jon & I got an early start on Falloween (Fall+Halloween, y'all). Pumpkins, costumes, candy, oh my! We are even hosting our first Halloween Party and I kid you not Jon was the first one to say "We should have a Halloween party." My head spun, my jaw dropped and my happiness shot through the roof. Besides this makes for a great excuse to buy decorations and go on a diet.
**A little side note from dieting and festivities. I realize we all at some point fall into the "Foot in mouth" syndrome (myself included) and I am pretty forgiving. That being said, I'm not too understanding of "Foot in text" syndrome whether the objective is humor or just a personal jab because of your own bad day. Finding humor at someone else's expense CAN be funny, when you know the person and share some camaraderie. Otherwise I get the impression of purposeful maliciousness and an immense lack of character. This really goes back to basics, "Think before you speak." Also, this goes hand in hand with today being the World Day of Bullying Prevention.
